  • No error page when browser connects by domain not configured in web server

If a remote browser connects to a host configured with aaPanel, using a domain name that is configured for the machine through DNS, but not configured as a virtual domain in aaPanel, the browser displays a page entitled Welcome to nginx!, instead of displaying an error page or generating an error code.

How could the site be configured to be less friendly toward attempts to connect from a web browser using domains not configured with the web server?

There are many cases in which a domain might be associated with a machine, running a web server, as does aaPanel, even though the particular domain is not intended for a web site.

For me, I cannot reproduce your issue. A fresh reinstalled server with aaPanel (No Nginx) should not showing Default Nginx Home Page when access remote IP or bind domain to remote IP.

However, If Nginx has been installed on the App Store. A warning page should pops up and notify that the website not found.

Nginx is not installed through the app store.

Apache 2.4 is configured for operating the web sites and managing the virtual domains.

I believe Nginx was included in the original software stack, from the system image used to initialize the instance of aaPanel.
