  • Fast restore solution from disaster

Good evening,

I would like a solution for creating snapshots on a dedicated server with Ubuntu 22.04.
Since I am unable to automate this process, I need a solution that allows me to quickly restore the server in case something goes wrong.
After some research, I noticed that it's quite challenging to create snapshots similar to the ones companies like Hetzner offer for their VPS, or acronis.

I thought that if something goes wrong, at least I could quickly reinstall Ubuntu and then perform a simple restore to recover all the data, including the websites, databases, configurations, and everything necessary for the server and aaPanel to function correctly.

I have used tools like Borg, Partclone, Rsync, etc.
They all work perfectly for creating backups on an SFTP server, but I noticed that during the restore process, permission issues arise, which prevents a proper restoration.

Do you have any solution for this? I feel insecure every time I need to perform a significant upgrade, knowing that if the server breaks for any reason, I might have to manually restore around 50 websites.

At the very least, I want to be able to restore everything with a single click. Is there no such solution?

Hello, snapshot backup is currently ideal.
There will be some problems when using other tools

Surely, snapshots would be the ideal solution!
But which services can actually do it? Does anyone know?
    Snapshots make things simpler.
All I want to do is take a snapshot of the entire server, and if something goes wrong, I just want to restore it via SFTP.
Acronis is suitable as far as I know, but it's very expensive. Is there anyone in the community who has found something similar, more affordable, that works?
