When can we expect a mail server update to Debian 12 or Ubuntu 22?

I'm using mail server on Ubuntu 20. In April 2025, Ubuntu 20 will reach its EOL.
I was wondering when can we expect a mail server update to Debian 12 or Ubuntu 22?

Technically, Mail Server 4.8 works with Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS x86_64(Py3.12.3).

But are non email related issues

Maria db has no fast installation. I made mariadb 10.11 compiled i think

Nginx 1.26.0 refuzed to install, Nginx 1.24.0 worked. I can switch to 1.26 but if you install Nginx free firewall Nginx 1.26 can't start. So I reverted to Nginx 1.24 but if I install Nginx free firewall Nginx 1.24 brokes.
Bottom line Nginx 1.26/Nginx 1.24 + Nginx free firewal + Ubuntu does not mix well, at least for now.
Nginx free firewal its a must for me.
Btw , witch is best fitted for aaPanel , Debian 12 or Ubuntu 22? or something else?

am running ubuntu 22.04.4 and debian 12 am try to update bud nothing go happend its say in log its finished bud stil see update and old version

Nginx Issue is with every distribution. There is no way currently to work NGINX WAF along with current NGINX 1.26. Its not safe to use older NGINX version as they are out of Life now. Better to use Nginx 1.26.

I want to update at least the Ubuntu 20 to Ubuntu 22 (not now, in a few months), but it seems its a no no for now

Yes mee to. But i had tested in Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky, Alma the problem is with Lua module. In Arm machine i have to disable lua module to work NGINX properly. I think, this is not taken as a bug by aapanel team.

idflorin Problem is Nginx EOL. Right now 1.27 is out and supported versions are 1.27 and 1.26. Iam not sure about 1.25 or 1.24. You should not use use a version that is outdated especially webserver. I use ARM for Front end deployments from Hetzner. Its pure value for money.

If you want 10 year upgrades and SElinux go for Rocky/Alma. If you are okay with 5 year support go with ubuntu 22.04 (EOL is 2027). If you are not well with managing security policies of SElinux i will advise to stick with ubuntu 22 or debian. Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 11 for time being.

Hello, this is a plug-in compatibility issue. If you use nginx free firewall, you must use nginx 1.22
MariaDB installation failure rate is too high, it is recommended to use mysql

I am using alma with openlitespeed but not able to add domains
seems port 25 is working fine, but once I start the email 4.8 I got those errors please check the screenshots

aaPanel_Kern no not solved .. still giving same above errors - just to remind I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same it is not installed perfectly using the aapanel ,

I need to install the rspamd and postfix manually to work , but unfortunately not able to add any domains and giving the above errors

the rspamd, postfix, dovecot are installed manually was not able to install using the aapanle even if I uninstall and make fresh install , showing message the rspmd not installed but it is running , cannot add any domains, I am using Almalinux 9 hope to find the solution for this one

Check whether there is a directory or not, create it manually and set the relevant permissions at the same time

ls -al /var/spool/postfix/
mkdir /var/spool/postfix/maildrop chmod 770 /var/spool/postfix/maildrop
