  • Help Needed with Domain Access, Bind Account, and Security Recommendations

Hi everyone, I'm a fresh-faced Aapanel user and need some guidance with my setup. I've successfully installed Ubuntu server on an AWS EC2 instance, followed by Aapanel and WordPress. Everything's running smoothly so far, but I have a few questions:

  1. Domain Name Access to Aapanel:

Currently, I access Aapanel through my server's IP address and port (e.g., ipaddress:port). How can I access it directly using my domain name instead? I've already added an A record in my DNS manager pointing to the IP address.

  1. Domain Name in Aapanel Menu Bar:

Is it possible to display the domain name instead of the IP address in the Aapanel menu bar? This would be a nice visual confirmation that I'm connected to the right server.

  1. Bind Account Mystery:

What's the purpose of the "Bind account" option in Aapanel settings? What are the advantages and any potential risks involved in using it?

  1. Security Checklist for Website & Server:

I'm concerned about website and server security. Are there any essential security measures, precautions, or settings I should configure in Aapanel to keep everything safe and secure?

5: Currently i can access my domain by entering domainname.com, how can i add www in front of it .

Any insights, advice, or helpful links would be greatly appreciated! I'm eager to learn and make the most of my Aapanel experience. Thanks in advance!

Please Feel free to share any additional tips or tricks you've discovered for a smooth and secure Aapanel setup.

Looking forward to your replies!

P.S. I'm a beginner, so please explain things in a clear and understandable way.

Hello,

  1. It is recommended to use a third-party domain name management system. It is currently known that some records of the DNS manager will not be propagated.
  2. Displaying IP is better than domain name. IP is the unique identification value and the domain name can be changed at will.
  3. After binding your aapanel account, you can experience the free professional version for 7 days or purchase the professional version.
  4. It is recommended that you back up your data every day and upload it to other servers or Google Drive, etc.
  5. Wordpress has bound the specified domain name. You can bind the domain name of www in the relevant site, and then change it in the WordPress background. Note that the domain of www needs to be A record parsed.
