NGINX 1.24 having issues with NGINX waf

I had tried to update nginx 1.22 to 1.24. But it got into trouble nginx error log says

2023/05/10 13:46:18 [emerg] 3528132#0: "lua_package_path" directive is duplicate in /www/server/panel/vhost/nginx/free_waf.conf:4

Any idea?

Is it possible to try to uninstall nginx free waf and then install it? If not, it is recommended to use nginx1.22

#include luawaf.conf;

include proxy.conf;
#lua_package_path "/www/server/nginx/lib/lua/?.lua;;";

If you don not use lua disable the path. Then NGINX will work

I had uninstalled both nginx waf, nginx and then reinstalled, also tried to installed in compiled mode. But no luck it is showing this error all the time.
For time being, will continue with Nginx 1.22.

Hope a solution will be proposed soon.

try deletef file: /www/server/panel/vhost/nginx/free_waf.conf

aaPanel_Kern Its working when i delete this file or even when i delete that directory line from this file. So is this file not necessary?

okay. but i checked nginx changelog and nothing mentioned about their modules. kindly check this if possible.

Hello, find and delete in the Files interface. Or use the command line to delete rm -f /www/server/panel/vhost/nginx/free_waf.conf

Is nginx 1.24 compatible with free WAF?
Currently I use 1.22 only
If I delete the above mentioned files can use nginx 1.24 with free WAF normally ?

if you have NGINX WAF installed, check it and make sure it uninstall if you are in free panel
