The following tutorial is outdated, please use sudo bt 5 to change the password

Go to ssh and enter the following command to reset the password (replace the "testpasswd" at the end of the command with the new password you want to change)

Note: For debian/ubuntu users, please use the account with root privileges to execute this command.

cd /www/server/panel && python tools.py panel testpasswd

Purple box is the password you want to modify
Red box is the panel account

If you are prompted to log in multiple times, temporarily disable login. Enter the following command to clear login restrictions.

rm -f /www/server/panel/data/*.login

      faisalyounus Hello, if your server port or password is forgotten, please go to the server operator and ask them to enter the rescue mode to restore the default port 22 or change it to the default server password after explaining the situation.
      We can't help you with port, network, or disk issues at the operating system level.

      Hello, I'm fresh here. I installed aaPanel and created my pages and ... (until then, really cool). After that I changed my username and closed it. When I tried to log in again, the aaPanel says that the login was successful, but does not open the panel. What now?

      Ahhhso, session! After a while (the next morning) it works again. I am assuming it is associated with a session. OK, shouldn't the session (the cookie) be deleted when changing the password and user name and then, if necessary, a new login should follow?

        I am also going through the same situation, I have already reset the password and it still won't log in, and the next day it did.

        And now it just stays like this.

        Hi, Ive just installed aaPanel and if I try to set a password with the "%" or "$" characters it fails to login. Is there any limitation on special characters por passwords?

        Thanks

          alvaro
          Hello, I have set @$123456 and found no problem, please check if there is a typo.

          Triple checked it. Fresh install with default username... I change password with "Xxx1%1999$" both from:

          1.- Panel: settings / panel password
          2.- Shell: # cd /www/server/panel && python3 tools.py panel Xxx1%1999$

          If I set password to that you mention it also doesnt login:

          Shell: # cd /www/server/panel && python3 tools.py panel @$123456

          but if i set it to "lalala12" it works!

          Shell: # cd /www/server/panel && python3 tools.py panel lalala12

          Please let me know if you need further info to reproduce this

          This is an ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS running on proxmox

          Shell: # cat /proc/version

          Linux version 5.4.0-104-generic (buildd@ubuntu) (gcc version 9.3.0 (Ubuntu 9.3.0-17ubuntu120.04)) #118-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 2 19:02:41 UTC 2022

          Thank you again

            Hello, please use the command bt 5 to change the password, in Shell $@ has a special use

            Just to mention that I also tried to change the password from the web interface with no success. Does this mean that I only will be able to set those chars in my passwords from cli?

            Thanks again
