n8n Docker Installation

I'm currently trying to get n8n running on my installation using a docker container but I can't seem to manage to get it right using aaPanel. I've created the container, set up the port and get a clear message that my app is currently running on the container, but can't access it:

If I go to the URL there's a timeout:

I even added a reverse proxy to the website (which is using SSL) so to try to not use the port on the frontend, but got the same results.

Hello, have you opened port 5678 in the security group of your system firewall and server provider?

As shown in the figure, 301 jumped, this is your reverse proxy setting wrong? Try to modify it to https://127.0.0.1:5678 or http://127.0.0.1:5678 ?

aaPanel_Kern I've changed the reverse proxy to http://127.0.0.1/5678 but it renders the same result. You should run your test again as I was trying to add n8n to the server through pm2, therefore did stop the docker container. It's now available and running, you should be able to get a response.

I know the topic is old, but to help others, I'll share how I solved the problem. Since your N8n application is inside a container, instead of using the localhost IP or localhost, you need to set the IP of that container in the reverse proxy. If you do this, it will work. Remember that Docker creates a virtual internal network.
