Why does folders gets created with root permissions?

Every month when I try to upload a new WordPress media I get the message that I can't due to permissions, I have to go into the panel and fix the folder permissions myself, the folder always gets created with root permissions, any idea why this is happening?

Hi, can you tell us which directory it is? Aapanel's website generally uses www users

aaPanel_Kern The directory gets created inside wp-content/uploads/2022/ the names would be like 06 and 07 and so on.

Try to check /www/wwwroot, /www/wwwroot/domain/ Are these two directories www user or root user? If you are root user try to change to www user

Hello. I have this problem.
I have wordpress and i installed it and plugins 2 year ago and i always have updated wp and plugins. first time 2022/06 and now i saw 2022/07 these folders that Cyb3r said , created by WP in root owner permission.
I see since installing aapanel to now , the owner of wwwroot always has been www!

I know that you said, but ithis problem for i and for cyb3r from 2022/06 started! before this, wp created folder in (owner = www)

Hello, the directories created in the Files interface in the panel are all 755/www, and the use of other methods to create depends on the running user. You can use chmod/chown to change

aaPanel_Kern I just encountered this even though I did change the permissions for wwwroot to www user, and for @arsse, the problem I was facing long before I created this thread, but I was trying to figure it out myself.

The directory wwwroot has root permissions. This directory was created with the root user when the panel was installed. Only the sites below it are for www users.

Faced the same problem.
CMS Opencart creates a cache of images, some folders are created with root ownership, what could be the reason for this? You have to manually set permissions.
I checked php and nginx are running as user www

Hello, I installed opencart and added the product with pictures. See that the uploaded image catalog image/catalog is www. It should be caused by using the directory created by the root user

Everything turned out to be simple, although I struggled with it for 2 days)
Cron created a price list, links to images are also uploaded to the price list. Cron in Aapanel runs as root, which is why the owner was root.

Replace [domain.com] with your web site domain.
