Hello,

Mysql log showing an error given below:

How can I fix this error?

jonhcarter You have a third-party installation. do itapt purge mysql apt purge mysql-common

Hello, this is because you did not enter the root password. Mysql requires a password to log in to root. You can view or change the password in the panel.

jonhcarter You have to create a rootuser login for % and setup password. The default root user can be used for local login.

The same problem after submitting the new password, even though I changed the password with the bt command still showed the same error.

Is it possible to log in to mysql normally?

Yes, I can log in via ssh & also with PHPMyAdmin.

That should check the website or what program is using mysql, but not using a password to log in.
Direct mysql in ssh will also try to log in without a password.

it stops giving errors when I add skip-grant-tables in the MySQL config file but I think this is not a solution.

adding MySQL root password "password = your password " in the MySQL config file resolves the error. is it safe to add a MySQL root password in the config file?
